Hotel

逢甲新宿 (FengJiaXinSu – checked with owner, no English name…) was a famous accommodation option in FengJia Night Market (逢甲夜市). It has a very convenient location, 5mins walk from Feng Chia University (逢甲大学) entrance and bus stops, located right in the heart of  FengJia Night Market with address No. 16, Lane 19, Fengjia Rd, Xitun District, Taichung City, Taiwan 407 (台中市西屯區逢甲路19巷16號).

Bus stop to FengJia accommodation

5 minutes walk from bus stop to 逢甲新宿 (FengJiaXinSu), and right in the FengJia Night Market, convenient location.

There are number of rooms with different themes, I ever stayed in rooms R11 (building A) & R23 (building B). Buildings A and B were just few blocks away, at the same small alley. The buildings’ exterior look old without any indication signboard, just like an usual local residential.

Building B’s exterior looked old.

Waiting area of building B’ lift was pack, and the building could be quite quiet at night.

Both the rooms R11 and R23 were clean, looked new with trendy design, wasn’t big but enough for 2 persons. Setup and facilities were basic, just fine for us as we didn’t really stay long in the room. Bed and pillows were fine, quite comfortable.

Toilets were tidy and clean, no unpleasant smell. Room R23 had Wifi but not R11.

Room R11, simple and nice.

Room R23

Room R23 and toilet were clean and no unpleasant smell.

The staff was so friendly and informative, able to provide useful suggestions for transportation, attractions and attractions nearby. They also helped to keep our luggage between our stays, to reduce our loads while traveling.

I think the best selling point of this accommodation was its convenient location, but also one of the cons. The buildings’ soundproof was so bad, noises created by night market activities surrounding the buildings were annoying, especially room R23.

Air conditional of room R23 was so old and noisy, I couldn’t sleep well because of that. Room R11 didn’t have hot water supply during my visit, I suspect the water heater was faulty.

We paid NT800 for room R11 (weekday) and NT1400 for room R23 (weekends).

Overall the place was good with its price, definitely worth the money spent especially with its good room condition and the convenient location to explore FengJia Night Market. But light sleeper do take the noise issues that I mentioned above into consideration.

Hope my review on 逢甲新宿 helps, do share it out if you like it!
