Is it safe to travel to Bangkok right now?
For those who have been following the news, Thailand has been embroiled in a political crisis with huge protests that have flared up all across Bangkok since late last year in 2013.
The Bangkok protests have spilled over into the new year and reached a climatic point in February 2014.
When it seemed things have calmed down, just very recently this week, the tempers are flaring up again.
So is it safe then to travel to Bangkok? It could be YES, or it could be NO which is the frustrating part. It really depends, where and when you are planning to visit.
In some instances if you avoid the major protest areas, then you should do just fine, but with this uncertainty with the state of the political crisis and its fluidity, it is always a good idea to check ahead with your local government agencies for the latest updates and to see if there are any major travel warnings imposed.
We will be keeping up a news log below on any latest developments we hear in the news on the Bangkok protests. So you can always refer back to this post to ensure you have the most up to date news on the current situation in Bangkok.
Let’s just hope things cool down peacefully, and that no body gets hurt.
Travel Safe Everyone!
