Jellyfish 3

I always wanted to have a day trip to Sentosa, but it was too huge to cover everything within a day, so eventually planned a visit to Sentosa Express’s Beach Station area and bought 5-in-1 Sentosa Family Value Package – Adult for S$32 per pax. The package Cover admission tickets for Underwater World, Dolphin Lagoon, Luge Ride, Sky Ride & Song of the Sea.

Getting to Sentosa

There are several ways, below are 3 of them with starting point at Harbourfront MRT. I have also included 2 useful links for journey planning in Singapore, SBS Transit journey planner & Gothere:

  • Cable car – Get  to Harbourfront MRT and take Exit B to Harbourfront Centre, the Singapore Cable Car station is at Harbourfront Tower II, it can be easily found by follow directional signs. Operating hours: 8.45am – 10pm daily (Last boarding at 9.45pm), fee: Adult: S$26; Child: $15 (include Admission into Asia’s First Cable Car museum)
  • Sentosa Boardwalk – Visitors can walk into Sentosa via Sentosa Boardwalk which connecting Sentosa Island to Vivocity Mall. Enter VivoCity Mall Basement 2 from Harbour Front MRT and proceed to 1st Floor, follow directional sign boards to VivoCity Shopping Mall’s waterfront promenade which you can find The Sentosa Boardwalk there. You can get Sentosa entrance ticket (S$1  per entry per person, can use EZ-Link card for quick access) at ticketing booths right before Sentosa entrance. Operating hours: Sentosa Boardwalk – 24 hours, daily; Travelators – 7am to 12mn, daily; Ticketing Booths – 9am – 6pm, daily.
  • Sentosa Express – After got into Vivocity Mall front Harbour Front MRT Station, proceed to Lobby L, Level 3, where Sentosa Express is located. Operating hours: First Train – 7am & Last Train – 12mn. The ticket cost you S$4 per entry per person, EZ-Link card is acceptable.

You can also find more information about getting around to Sentosa here.

We took Sentosa Express at Vivocity at the morning and alighted at Beach Station, follow by taking free shuttle bus service (with interval of around 10mins), alighted at last station and walked for 3mins to reach Underwater World. You can always ask the driver if you aren’t sure where to get off.

Underwater World Open daily from 10.00am – 7.00pm (Last admission at 6.30pm) with admission fee (includes single admission to Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon) for adult: S$29.90, child 3-12 years old: S$20.60, child below 3 years old: Free.

Underwater World wasn’t so big, we finish checking out the place in around an hour. The building and facilities were old, wasn’t much variety of sea creature in it. But I found it wasn’t too bad for 1st timer like us, we have had an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon wandering around. Feeding sessions were available, too bad we missed it. You might want to check on the schedule and plan ahead to prevent disappointment.

Dolphin Lagoon was located next to Underwater World, just a 2mins walk. We reach Dolphin Lagoon 10mins before the Dolphins and Fur Seals show was started, but already full house. You can find for the show schedule here.

Dolphin Lagoon

Dolphin Lagoon was so crowded, we stood at the highest level enjoying the show.

The dolphins and seals were so cute and well trained, able perform many tasks and moves. Overall, we kind of like the show. But it was so hot outdoor, especially when it was so crowded at the afternoon.

The day was too hot, we decided to have something cold after the show, before heading to our next destination, Skyline Luge!
