Hong Kong is internationally well-known for its entertainment, shopping and dining. What most people are not aware of is how many attractions Hong Kong has available for families with kids. This world-city has many family attractions besides the famous Disneyland for children.
Taking a charter private jet to Hong Kong to see Disneyland is something every child will enjoy. Disneyland is the number one attraction for families with kids visiting or living in Hong Kong. A family can visit the park and cover everything in a day, so there is no need to stay overnight, unless the kids want to stay late for the fireworks display.
Next, there is the famous Ocean Park in Hong Kong. This is one of the best amusement parks in Asia, and it occupies a mountainous peninsula on Hong Kong Island. The main draw to Ocean Park is the ocean and sea attractions. There is a fantastic shark aquarium, jellyfish displays and amazing dolphin shows. The park is home to some thriller roller coasters and other exciting rides. All children enjoy the scenic cable-car ride. If you plan the trip ahead of time and book far enough in advance, the dolphin center in the park is definitely worthwhile.
Another exciting adventure for the kids and adults is the Noah’s Ark attraction. Noah’s Ark features full-sized replicas of the vessel, as well as the animals that entered the ark, that saved life on earth during the great flood. There is an excellent biblical presentation about the story as well. The Noah’s Ark center offers plenty of educational activities related to nature and man, as well as fun and adventurous rope courses. Access to the park is by ferry, which is also entertaining for the children.
Kids and teens enjoy visiting the Hong Kong Space Museum and the Hong Kong Science Museum, which are only ten minutes apart from each other. The space museum is known for having one of the best planetariums in the world, while the science museum hosts one of the largest ‘energy machines’ in the world. This machine demonstrates the various ways that energy is used with a falling ball.
It is always fun to stop by the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. It offers a beautiful landscape and has some unique reptiles. The Edward Youde Aviary is within a few minutes walking distance, inside Hong Kong park, and has a nice collection of birds that are indigenous to the Far East and Southeast Asia.
The Hong Kong Park is a perfect place to let the kids play while mom and dad relax with a quiet walk through the park. A big hit with the kids is the water fountain inside the park that they can play in. This is fantastic during the heat of the summer when the kids can get soaked from head to toe. Keep in mind that you might want to pack a change of clothes! Another highlight the park offers for the kids is the many small ponds packed full of carp and turtles.
Getting to Hong Kong is fairly simple, and exploring Hong Kong with kids can be packed full of adventure and fun.
