The star ferry is another one of Hong Kong’s most famous attractions. It is a ferry service that crosses Victoria harbour and allows tourists to see the sights of Hong Kong from the water. You can go on short 10 minute rides or choose to go for an hour if you want a bit more time to take in the views and landmarks.
6. Escape to Stanley
Stanley is far different from most other areas in Hong Kong. It is an ideal escape from the busy city centre. It has pretty coves, beaches and rolling hills to explore. If you get the bus it’s only a short journey from the main strip. If the weather is nice you can hire a canoe or sunbathe on the beach.

The Hong Kong museum of history is located on Chatham road. History buffs will love spending hours absorbing information in this fascinating museum. You can learn about the development and history of Hong Kong. It’s worth setting aside a full morning, afternoon or even a whole day to learn as much as you can about how Hong Kong came to be the place it is today.
8. Relax In the Nan Lian Garden
The Nan Lian Garden is another great place to get away from it all. These beautiful gardens are full of lush vegetation, vibrant flowers and Japanese style gardens. There is a pond with Koi fish swimming around where you can sit and watch the world go by. It’s one of the top attractions in Hong Kong and definitely worth a visit if you like picturesque gardens.
9. Shop at The Ladies Market
If you fancy a bit of shopping in Hong Kong then make sure you go to Ladies Market. You will have everything you can imagine in one place and you can pick up some fantastic bargains. They have souvenirs, clothing, accessories and more. The market is located on Tung Choi Street and the stretch of stalls is over one kilometre long.
10. Visit the Big Buddha
The Big Buddha in Po Lin Monastery is simply breathtaking. People travel from all over Asia to see this amazing sight. The Buddha was erected in 1993 after being lost in the mountain and it stands at 34 metres high. Try and visit the Big Buddha in the evening and see it light up on the mountain at night.
